There are many talented plastic and reconstructive surgeons in Australia, but for most of us, we respond when we know our surgeon is not only qualified and experienced, but also employs a holistic approach. It helps to know that we are supported, not just in the operating theatre, but for the whole duration of the surgical journey.

Let’s face it, no one wants to have surgery; what we want is the results. At the heart of it, most of us want to look and feel the best we can about ourselves, whatever our age or circumstances. Electing to have surgery requires courage for many people. Partnering with a surgeon that inspires confidence in our individual goals and encourages healthy expectations is a key part of a successful surgical journey.

It is easy to see by reading some of Dr Matthew Peters’ reviews, that he is not only an exceptional surgeon, but a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. One reviewer states that Dr Peters was not only an amazing surgeon who achieved beautiful results for her, but also notes that he was “a great, kind [and] caring personality.” Another reviewer writes that she was very grateful for Dr Peters “skills – and his excellent bedside manner.”

Consultations prior to any surgery are thorough, considering your goals and lifestyle, to suggest a plan that suits your individual needs. This is an excellent time to raise any concerns or questions you have, to ensure you are fully prepared for surgery. In a follow up consultation, Dr Peters again provides an opportunity to ask any further questions you may have, or raise any concerns you may have prior to surgery. During both consultations, you will also meet with a Valley Plastic Surgery nurse to discuss garments and optimising recovery.

Surgical journeys are multifaceted, however, much of a successful one can be attributed to initial and ongoing dialogue between the patient and surgeon, and care for all factors at play. Aside from his technical ability, Dr Peters is sought after for his commitment to partnering with each patient through every step of their surgical journey, with emphasis on open lines of communication, in order to produce the best possible physical and mental outcomes.

Dr Peters specialises in a range of breast, body, and facial procedures, including neck and facelift, tummy tuck, body lift, thigh and arm reduction, breast augmentation, lift and reduction surgeries.
