Info

For those that don’t want to undergo surgery, the combination of injectables can create a fantastic result. Known as a “liquid facelift”, by using a combination of injectable fillers and muscle immobilizing products, lines can be minimized or erased, and sagging skin can be lifted and filled out.

As we age we experience volume loss, jowls can droop, vertical lip lines can appear, as well as crow’s feet and deep lines along the side of the nose and chin — sometimes called marionette lines — all these can benefit greatly from a liquid facelift.

Injectable products and techniques are constantly improving and can now even correct asymmetries, fill in deep pits in the skin and other unwanted imperfections. With these injectable products, you can dramatically improve your appearance with subtle but effective results without the downtime or risks of surgery.

Procedure

After discussing with your injector what you would like to achieve it is important to aim for subtle results that improve your looks rather than change them. A liquid facelift is essentially a series of injections that can be done in one session, or spread over several sessions, depending on what you decide with your injector. On average, an entire “liquid facelift” takes between 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how much you choose to have injected. There may be mild, momentary discomfort and some swelling and bruising may occur at the injection site.

Risks and Complications

The “liquid facelift” procedure is safe and rarely associated with any significant side effects. By choosing a skilled injector, these side-effects are greatly reduced, however, temporary bruising cannot be ruled out even with the most skilled injectors. A few reported side effects include: Skin redness just after the treatment (typically lasting for a few hours post-procedure). An allergy to a product, though new products are much more natural and therefore much less likely to cause a reaction. Mild bruising and swelling that may appear for several days’ post-procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. What is the recovery time after the Liquid Facelift?
A. Virtually none. Post-procedure, no special care is required and the patient can mostly resume their regular daily routine straight away, however, some people may bruise and swell, but this usually recedes in a few days.

Q. Are Liquid Facelifts safe?
A. Yes. The Liquid Facelift has very few adverse reactions. New fillers are well-tolerated because they are based on hyaluronic acid which is a natural substance in the body, thus less likely to have allergy issues.

Q. Does a Liquid Facelift hurt?
A. While most treatment sessions are trouble-free, some patients may experience momentary discomfort from the injections.

Q. How long do results last?
A. It is important to know that results are not permanent and must be repeated every few months with shorter-acting products, or every couple of years with more long-lasting products. Your injector will be able to advise which products are best suited for the results you wish to achieve.
