The Brera Plasmage® is a little device that’s packing a big punch in the non-surgical world. Created specifically for more delicate areas such as the upper and lower eyelids, this device is able to treat where lasers and radiofrequency cannot. Able to treat a whole range of aesthetic and dermatological conditions including results similar to a blepharoplasty without surgery, Plasmage® is quickly becoming a favourite amongst Australian practitioners and requested by patients around the country.
Plasmage® delivers plasma energy into the skin at various modes, levels and scales to allow the operator to specifically adapt the energy to what the patient needs. Plasma energy is generated when the gas in the air is ionised to form an arc of energy between the tip of the device and the skin. The tip of the Plasmage® device then gets close to the skin but doesn’t actually touch it to deliver this electrical discharge which sublimates skin tissues without ablation.
With over 30 different settings, the practitioner has perfect control of the treatment area. This approach has several benefits including faster treatments and less downtime. Less aggressive than other plasma-based devices, the Plasmage® handpiece has different sized and shaped electrodes to suit the treatment.
The Brera Plasmage® has been uniquely designed to perform a range of treatments to provide quick results including:
It’s the upper and lower eyelid lifts that are causing all the fuss though. Plasmage is able to get aesthetic results previously only achieved through surgery. Plasmage® provides results similar to a blepharoplasty without going under the knife. Dr Robin Chok is getting excellent results for his patients with the Plasmage® and says there’s minimal preparation, downtime and discomfort for the patient. “We put a numbing cream on the skin or eyelids/eyebrows or wherever we are doing the treatment. We can also give the patient some gas if the patient needs a little more comfort. We plan the pattern of where we will apply the energy. This is extremely important, in fact I say it’s the secret formula, as it will determine the results of the treatment. Both eyes can be done in about 30 minutes. Post procedural care is so important to shorten the time of recovery. Healite II is a fantastic technology to employ, and we have other things to apply to the skin as well to soothe it. Our healing has been much more consistent when we employ this approach. We find most patients have healing and results apparent between 5 – 10 days.”
There are several clinics around Australia that offer the Plasmage – find one near you.
